ok are you bridging the amp? if you are then you cant go lower than 4 ohm because when you bridge an amp it puts more stress and this one wont handle it.

As a rule for 4channel amps, if they are ok for 4x 2 ohm speakers then they the minimum impedance you can use for bridging is 4 ohm. When you bridge a speaker over 2 terminals it effectively halves the impedance load on each.

So if the amp is only running these comps and nothing else at all (e.g. sub, rear speakers), then with 4 ohm your already getting the most out of the amp and going even lower will cause it to probably overheat or damage it.

it cant be bridged if 4 channels are being used to run 4 speakers

it'll be fine

hmm, maybe he is... i read and assumed he was running all 4 speakers

the amp can run 2ohm, but as you say, cant be bridged, just use channel 1 & 2

no speaker is more "powerful" than another, they can handle power in different ways, the impedance (ohms) is just a measurement of how much current is drawn from the source, more power can be had easier with higher impedance.. IE: 1ohm > 8ohm

Ai it'll be ok providing you wire them properly. Might need a bit of tweaking to get a balanced sound tho.

By balance I mean the 2Ohm set might be a bit louder than the 4Ohm speakers, so you might wanna adjust the gain to them a bit. Nowt to worry bout tho.

yea man thing about sounds in your car is you dont want millions of speakers everywhere, a set of £100 comps will sound a lot better than 2 sets of £50 comps by a mile. lots of speakers will jumble up your sound, the less sources of sound (speakers) you have, the better. just left/right and a sub.
