make sure you seal the back of the pods to get the best effect out of them mate, what i did is just whack a piece of sound deadening over the speaker hole, tbh i wish i fibreglassed the back, remember to incorporate some wires too

are you upgrading the cables to the speakers?
are the crossovers active or passive?

Defenately upgrading the speaker cable. Running passive using the crossovers you see in the first pic.
My mate used to have some rainbows in a sealed Pod the same sort of size, when he opened the back up it was noticably louder without effect SQ, I think it much have been restricting the mid. Im going to be venting these pods into the door and sound deadening them. Might make the whole is the back of the pod smaller tho

to get the pods really smoth, when you think they are ready for painting get some spray on filler primer and give them a good coat then get some really fine grit paper and give them a light rub over. the finnish will be much better.

id rather trim the pods tbh, so much easier
stretchy material obviously works best
with painting theres a hell of a lot more prep work involved although they do look good

match the interior and stick to faux material as it will stretch more

you can buy a textured paint to spray them in mate....gives the same sort of the texture on the plastic bits of the doorcards/dash

I might do this if its too hard to cover the pods. Im thinking of trimming them in black faux seude/alcantara etc
I dont want to paint them because the look is abit "in your face" for me I want more subtle/oem
