jbl are a good make , the sub is 500watt rms right?
the 100 watt has to be peak on a 10 inch.
the amps a lil underpowerd i think for the sub..
but for the price its a good bit of kit.

the 10' sub is 250 RMS , 1000w peak
powered by a 200rms bridged amp
The 12' sub package is 300rms , 1200w peak with that ^ same amp , would that be better?

the amp is still giving out 200wrms if its the same amp as the first package its irrelevent what rms the sub is if the amp isnt giving it its full potential, this is only really good if you intend on upgrading the amp at a further stage really. i personally own jbl gear, the amp i have at the moment is a 1004e 4 channel amp and its fantastic i have to say!
What you also might like to bear in mind is it also depends what sorta music you listen to and how you want it to sound, Enclosures make a difference (ported vs sealed) but so does the sub size, 10" is good for tight (quick) bass 12" is a good all rounder really and 15" is better for longer notes imo someone correct me if i am wrong
if you give a budget and what you intend on buying with it (wiring, hu, speaker Coax or comp, sub, sound deadening ect) then there are a good few ICE wizz kids on here that will get you "bangin" in no time.
Hope this help you bud
Let us know how you get on

it will be better for 2 reasons:
bandpass box - built specifically for the sub to give optimum performance and bass enhancement
4 channel amp - can run a set of components off the amp too

sounds pretty good, like someone has said in earlier in the thread, not very punchy, but really good wiv the low end stuff

why put a sub in a small box though? saves space, but makes your system sound shite
to get anything worth having out of a speaker it must be in the correct size enclosure

some 10 or 12' selaed boxes sound quite decent imo. jus that i measured that jbl ported box and leaves barley any boot space, whereas the normal 12' box fits quite nicely but without sacrificing the whole boot.
im swaying towards this (maybe next best thing for price to that ported one)

both boxes are badly made prefab
hence.. bad sound & sub running at far less than its potential, those boxes strangle the sub
