Righty 3 months on and im unemployed but currently looking for some work in a garage of some sort.
Over the past few months i've been chopping and changing cars as i couldnt find anything interesting enough.
first off i had a 306dturbo, it was too slow:
Then i sold that because i was bored as hell and it was slow and i couldnt really mod it much since the boost and fuel was already turned up, fmic ect..
bought a cherry red 1.1
did this
And then a little bit of this
Gave the 'box a quick coat, nothing fancy
Fetched an engine that had some of these
Then this happened
also didnt like the wheels, plus the tread was bare.
So swapped the OZ's for a set of C5 steels(Alloys) with some brand new T1r's on two, and brand new tyres on the other two, but i've forgotten the name, for the life of me i cannot remember the brand and/or model.
So, wheels on, got myself some new bumpers.
reason for that was
1. the red ones were painted by a monkey, so they were flaking everywhere and missing grills/fogs
2. it looks more like a sleeper like this, surprises a lot of old men in audi's
Right with that over with some turbo-talk.
I have my engine, built up and ready to go.
Tu5J4.
Forged Pistons & Rods
Injectors (Around 500cc, not 100% sure)
Boost Pipes
Intercooler setup/Radiator Setup.
KMS Ecu
Downpipe
Exhaust system
I have probably forgotten something off the list.
I also have a fully refurbished rear beam coming from IM Axles in a few weeks.
Ricky is starting to paint up the new S2 shell sometime next week also.
All i really need now is a manifold, some oil fuel and brake lines, hi-spec/brembo's and a few other bits and bobs and shes ready to go on the road!
so a few more thousand to spend and then i've got to find an insurance company who will insure me.
Any boosted guys/gals out there, do you think it would make sense to get a daily derv, something VW or a 306HDI ect.. then run that weekly and just have a "weekend policy" for the 106?
Thoughts/info is, as always, appreciated.
Also, the KMS ecu. how do we all rate these? originally as you all know i was going to go for the original OEM ecu, but the KMS was offered cheap with the engine and intercooler and stuff so i took that also (Plus it has a map on for this engine when it was originally setup before taken off the road after doing zero miles)
