petrol cap
didnt know what section to put this in, got i new petrol cap and changed it over but can't get my car key out of the one i have taken out now , does it have to be in the car to take the key out, is there away round it?

Mate, just hold the cap (body coloured part) in your hand so it does not turn and turn the key, it will come out. if you look at the bit that sticks into the petrol filler neck you will notice 2 tabs. These hold the cap onto the filelr neck. All you need to do is align the tabs by turning the key 90 degrees then it will pull out because the cap is then in the locked postion.
I really don't understand the big problem around the petrol cap thing TBH.

i couldnt get my key out so i mashed the cap to shit and then the key came out lol, the only way of doin it, i found!!

Again, nothing magical happens just because the cap is on the car. It just needs to be in the locked posistion which you can do with the cap in your hand.

I just put it in a vice at work and pulled it so the mechanism turned but the spring didnt come back and released the key. well i see me, i got one of the guys to do it for me!
