Default Computer Very hot

Well basicaly i have a PC that i use daily and sometimes run demanding tasks on it, its got a few fancy things like the Cathode lights etc. And its always run perfect.
I left the computer on this morning when i went out, got back and never noticed till just that my CPU tempreture was 88c

yet its only been idling. No tasks running except background ones.

COuld someone on here reccomend me decent fans as it seems my one has packed up. I have got 6 others in the case its self. But want a decent powered one for my CPU cheers

Its not the amount of fans.

Its airflow around the case, and the paste between the CPU and the heatsink / fan.

Picture of the inside of your case?

I have the two HDD drives both with twin fan coolers on them
A fan in the side of the case blowing air in
And an exhaust fan in the PCI slot to blow air out from the hot PCI cards

Baaad choice. Turn them round and have them exhaust heat. Air is meant to come in from the front and side, and go out from the back and top..

So turn those two back fans to blow out, then look at your temp again. If it doesn't help, go into the bios and look at the fan speed of your CPU fan.

I used to have an arctic cooling CPU fan... Was quite good. Just make sure you get some decent paste to put between CPU and heatsink, its just as important as the fan itself.

Ok mate, i had a old gaming PC which had water cooling etc lol. Spent close on £600 building that bugger, had fans all over the place. Ill turn them around now... Face them to blow out. means there will be air coming in from the side and ill have 3 blowing out > sound about right? The power pack one also exhausts.

Its at 84now. Ill swap them give it 20mins or so. see what happens Thanks bud

Just took a pic quickly to show you what I mean.

Two 120mm fans at front pulling in.
One 120mm fan on the back exhaust'in heat.
One 200mm fan on the top exhaustin'in heat.

CPU Fan is a Tuniqtower with 120mm fan inside aswell.

So cold air in the front, through the case, out the back and the top.

CPU 21c

PSU 28c

Its all about the airflow through the case, and a nice big cooling fan on the CPU. Get a decent CPU cooler, and some proper silver paste and your temperature will come down. As long as your case temperature is quite low aswell...

It's the Antec 900

65 still seems VERY high for an idling temp. It might be worth reapplying the thermal paste

My temps are only so high is because I have my fans on idle.
My PC is almost completely silent.

If I put them all on full it's really cool. But the noise is epic.

The operating temp of my CPU is up to 75c and it only hits 62C on high load which is very rare.

wouldn't leave it running without fans for too long. heatsinks can only dissipate so much. my fan died and only realised when the pc switched off and the heatsink was red hot!

To be honest. No.

You can run with minimal fans, and the heatsinks will dissipate the heat perfectly... This is why they have silent CPU / Graphic coolers. He said he had his fans on a low speed anyway, so this will just be moving the hot away away from the chip.
