Trackday last saturday went extremely well.
Here's a pic from the track photographer.
Plans are now to take the seats and harnesses etc out, finish of stripping the remainder of what's left, remove sound deadening from behind dash, remove tar in footwells and clean and Hammerite it black so the interior looks ok.
Then I'll remove fuel tank, rear bumper and wheels and wash down, wire brush and under seal.
Then there is a tiny bit of rust to sort under ecu which will be cut out and a plate welded in, this will be painted and both front inner arches undersealed.
Then the cage will be fitted which I'm dreading fitting but can't wait to see in.
Then nothing much else other than saving for throttle bodies and everything else.

Seen your pics on here and Instagram buddy and looks like it was a good'un! I was going to do a day down a Lydden Hill today but was shattered from work so wussed out at the last minute
Do love the black on black look on this as well - I know I'm biased but morettes would finish this beast off nicely!

No worries matey!
Good man! I've gone for the satin black/silver look so I'm still not sure whether my gloss vents are going to go with things... problem is once they're sealed in, that's that!
Fair play man... I need to have a good look over mine to see the state of play with the shell although she's just flown through her MOT no problems so she's fairly solid!
Will be next year now matey... going to do a day at Brands Hatch and then probably take her off the road for a bit over winter. I'm on the lookout for an engine but not found a decent JP4/S yet so will hold out for a low miler. Am I right in thinking you've got a JP4S in yours? I know that engine pretty well if it's the one I'm thinking lol.
Haven't got the seat in yet but just need the side mounts and I'll crack the whip so my mate can do it haha.

Can always sell them to me on the cheap like 😉
Yeah I've got a jp4s with 705s so much stronger than the 110k miler j4 that I pulled out! How do you know this engine well? I bought it off Ben Dowler from Kent way, had it in his Cherry GTi.

Still waiting for my cage, Cant come soon enough so I can make a start on getting it fitted.
Don't think I've mentioned it in this thread (I've got a couple of progress threads on a couple of forums for this car)
I have actually now got this insured permanently alongside my daily Clio 182, For a very reasonable price for my age, The car will be having an agreed value on it when the cage is fitted, And my new insurers also offer track day insurance, So basically what ever happens to the car, If anything does happen that is, I'm not going to be £3/4k out of pocket.
Great for piece of mind, As its a track car there is a good chance of a visit to the tyre wall on track.
But it also means it will be getting used a little more, Although I don't like using it on the road much as its loud/uncomfy and obnoxious, I also can't drive it sensibly.
But hopefully my next update will involve pictures of the cage.
Need 2 new harnesses so I can utilise the harness bars also...

He's binned it.
Was driving down the lanes and he misjudged the width of the road, his passenger wheel came off the road and pulled him down a slight banking, the angle of the banking meant he ended up on his roof again.
Not really, he's got a cage being ordered very soon

Safety Devices I think, albeit slightly late given his previous experience with putting cars on their roofs.

How much did it set you back? Got myself a 106 GTI toy, got buckets, mounts and harnesses already, got 266mm brakes also! Dash is out and the rest of the interior, all the sound deadening is gone!
