what is the std HU's power output to the speakers anyone know? ive done a search and cant find it being searched before

Manual says 4 x 10 watts MAX

thats the max rating though, so half that and will be 4 x 5 watts RMS

cheers pred never thought to look in the manual
so an uprated one that says 4x50w is most likely going to be 4x50w MAX not RMS ?

yes mate all headunits are rated in max powers

rms is usually about half that maybe a bit more but not much, only way to get decent sound is amping speakers, although an aftermarket headunit will improve sound dramatically with just standard speakers
