Having alot of ups and downs with this atm!
Valve stem seals shouldnt be any more than £2 each, iirc they were £1.04 from GSF
I know its annoying, but dont rush it too much just to get it to trax, dont want to forget something!
Were the cams mapped to catcams timig specs, or were they altered during mapping?

They were altered during mapping so I'll time them up to pipers spec - will try and get it as close as possible to how it was before.
I'm going to Citroen for all the parts, will be expensive but worth it.
I won't rush rebuilding the head, so will be fine. The only problem I see is that the new flywheel doesn't have a groove to lock the bottom end off at TDC, will have to use timing marks. Fingers crossed!!!!

Ahh bummer, Use dial guage with an extension on it To find tdc, Through the sparky plug hole. Gonna be hard to time it up without knowing If ur at TDC!
Good luck with the Build though. Sure itll be at silverstone!

It'll be there!! Whether it be in physical presence of spirit!
If it gets closer to the end of the week and it's looking like it's not going to make it - I'll set up a few lights and pull some lates nights !!
Will need to run the head in and make sure it's running okay before Sunday too, which will be a few hours driving around!

Someone on 106rallyeforum - I'm a bit pissed about it as have a useless S1 box now and let the buyer of the S2 down now as I fitted it to mine, but just means I'll get to take the S1 apart, new bearings, seals and synchro's - and depending on money/situation i'll pop a quaife in it.

Update on my previous list of To Do's before Trax::
- new front wheel bearing (doing after trax due to lack of time)
- new rear wheel bearing (doing after trax due to lack of time)
- new droplinks (FITTED)
- new ball joints (S*TTG pressing them in tomorrow)
- S1 gearbox on (S2 put on instead as S1 fubar)
- helix flywheel on (FITTED)
- oil cooler bought (fitting it tomorrow)
- REPAIR ENGINE (head rebuild/new valves etc.) - Valvles lapped in, waiting for parts to rebuild it)
- oil change (to do after engine is back together and oil cooler fitted)
- tracking laser done (after Trax I'll book it in)
- front de-cat section made up (box removed) (I'll book it in and get this done at the same time as laser tracking)
- a good clean (A job for Saturday if weathers good and car's running nice)
- battery relocated (Battery box not come yet so can't do)
Not looking too bad at the mo, just depends on whether it runs or not, and timing it back up/tweaking the map to get it running nice.

Shit, sorry to read all this mate. Right old shitter! These french tins can be such cunts sometimes.
Looks like youve got it all under control though, fair play being so motivated to do it all. Best of luck getting it done in time, the bodied beast cometh!

Cheers mate, I'm feeling the full wrath of having a French car!!! Hopefully it'll soon get back on the road, just soooooo keen to make Trax, even if I don't push it hard on track

Is there any way you can take the crown wheel and pinion from the S1 and put it in the S2?

Yeh that might be a good shout - I'm just a bit reluctant to pull apart a good S2.
I think i'll just fully rebuild the S1, as would need to come apart anyway to get the diff/crownwheel out anyway. If i get a quaife, I ca nsend the diff off to quaife and they'll swap the crownwheels over for a small fee/free iirc.

End of day 3, 3 days to go
Hada good day today!!
Went and ordered the parts needed to rebuild the head, will be ready to be picked up at 9am tomorrow - the parts guy give me discount as me and S8TTG are in there getting parts quite often.
Managed to fit the oil cooler but only 2 thirds of it is in the bumper cut-out so might have a little tinker tomorrow id I get any free time; drained oil and fitted a Citroen oil filter ready for some nice OpieOils 5w40 Silkolene Pro S oil.
I waxoiled all my arches, the underside of the boot floor, the front of the car and the front chassis legs - there were patches of rust appearing so thought I'd just patch it up to keep it on the road for another 10 years!
Got the front bumper back on, and wishbones with new ball joints (thanks S8TTG!!) and fixed a little problem I had with the central locking.
Refitted the battery and connected parts up.
Should rebuild the head tomorrow and maybe get the head on tomorrow all torqued down. Got a new drivers side shaft being delivered on Thursday then it's go go go for the weekend!!!

Fingers crossed!! So far so good, just need Citroen to come through tomorrow and then get the head back together, back on the bottom end, torqued down, timed up and then connect everything else up and almost there!
Might need a few tweaks to the map but should be able to do that myself.
