You think maybe 200/220lb? I'm just trying to keep a balanced setup, might need a tad bit of experimentation!
I'll run it with 160lb GMC springs for now and try and see how it feels.

Well im running 22mm bars & 250lb up front and that feels spot on... for me - Which is the important part - its needs to suit your style of driving. I'd go 200lb minimum, maybe 220 with 21mm bars i reckon mate Assuming the group n's are ok with 200-220lb springs??

Yeh I think I'll end up with 200lb springs - missed out on steve's ones he's selling as I wasn't sure about them.
I'll just hang off and see what comes up, don't want to go too hard and it become understeer'y - I think only time on the track with it will help me to see what I want the car to feel like.

Dude, if you're going for a track only setup, you'd want 300lb spring minumum. What's the car gonna be?

What makes you say that dave? mine are 250lb and seem more than hard enough for track work. Im pretty sure he drives this car every day so im assuming thats why hes going for 200lb, and that would be about right with 21mm rear tbs anyway imo.
I have a pair of those subframes for sale if you want to make me an offer ashley, PM me...

Well, I'm asking him what he's using his car for in the future. I don't know what his plans are. I think if you're only gonna use it on track, you can go stiffer, but it would be shocking on the road.
Your 250lb / 22mm TB felt shit hot round the Nurburgring, yet you can still drive it on the road. So there's room for stiffer components if it was an out and out track car.

The thing is I've paid for 21mm bars, so Ideally looking for some front springs to make it a nice setup on the track/road.
The car will be used a bit on the roads next year, but mostly on the track (I hope). I would like to think around an 80:20 track:road usage.
The thing is the 300lb springs would be too much for the group n dampers from reading, so would need some pugsport tarmac dampers to cope with these properly, which is then getting into ££££ and I'd probably be beter to go for a coilover setup - but then surely I'd need some 23mm bars to suit the front setup?
Right now I'm thinking to go for some 220lb 240mm springs, with group n shocks, and then 21mm bars with 24mm arb. I'm hoping that this will be a good setup (more so the road usage is bearable than stiffness on track) I'll only be learning really on the track over the next year onwards, so over time as I begin to get quicker/more confident I could go harder if I want with new springs/bars.
It's hard to try and spec up a setup for the future which I think is why I'm going for a bit more of a compromised setup.
I'm currently running 160lb on 19mm rear bars and it feels good, so extrapolating that to 21mm bars I think is roughly 220lb. Maybe roughly 180/190lbs on 20mm bars (if PSF did them) ?

he drilled all the holes from a jig.
All i need to do is drill the holes for my side mounts on the bars - simples

Josh, how does yours feel on track, would you call it a balanced/neutral setup? As I might try and go the next step down from yours, re: 220lb with 21mm bars. Suppose you've got the diff to help things along when you turn in and get on the power.

What setup you running, or ideal setup? I'm just a bit worried that if i went for 300lb springs etc. then the car is undriveable on the road? Ideally I'd like to drive it to tracks/the ring and don't want my body to be too broken by the journey

Cheers, I'm hoping it'll be nice once in the car, there's only so much of sitting in it in front of the TV I can do eventually got to sort out a passenger seat as I don't think they'll appreciate a standard Westcoast seat and seatbelt ! lol

As Toad says - I would say it felt good. So yeah i'd prob go with 220lb with the 21mm bars - assuming the group n's will be suitable with 220's. Although i'd speak to people that have run similar set ups before making a decision as i've never run that set up i cant say for certain. Alex is a great source of info, and im sure Kam will help you out.
The LSD doesnt really help on 'turn in' to my knowledge, its more to do with getting on the power earlier in the corner, or thats what it feels like anyway
And in terms of road work mine feels fine, theres no way i'd drive it everyday with 250lb, but its not back breaking on the road thats for sure! I drove it all day to the ring & back and it was fine, as well as all day through the wales lanes / mountain roads and it was ace - Its an ideal set up for track / some road work imo.

Do you need a 2 way diff to aid deacceleration also?

yes 2 way diff also works in deceleration aswell as acceleration.
I use 250lbs srings up front with slicks, and it is a little too soft, rear wheel can be easily lifted 6 inches off the ground during cornering.

Thanks for the help I'm pretty certain on going for some 220lb x 240mm springs - I'll have a search on saxosportsclub and see what info is on there re: group n's with 220lb springs, as I believe it was discussed quite a bit a year or so ago.

I presume something like a Gripper would be 2-way? whereas the quaife is only 1 way? I think that a quaife would be more than sufficient for me for the time being - if it means I can get on the power earlier in a corner then can only be a benefit
