How did you find the westcoast box on the vts engine? shit acceleration? As im planning on using my furio box for a while until i can find a decent replacement
Keep up the good work and ive subscribed so get working on the bodies
|
I found the acceleration good with the Westcoast box - obviously coming from the power of a 1.4 to a vts was good !!
I'm going to put the S2 box on it to make it a bit more lively!
I have no regrets with fitting the westcoast box!

I'd love to go with some 20/21mm torsion bars but IMO they aren't important at the moment - once everything is up and running and am happy with how it runs then might look at bigger torsion bars depending on how the car handles.
BIG update to come!!! Just uploading pictures now !!

Also, a quick picture showing people where the fuel return lines come through under the rear bench:
You can see the fuel filter, and the green and white fuel lines coming from within the car ready to join on to the pipes leading upto the petrol tank.
Also, the Powerflex ARB bushes took literally 1 mintute a side to fit whilst the car was on the ramp and we had a 'windy' gun - makes it much easier to fit them !

I allways wonder about joshes old BTB, the rear pipe on the box is different to every other BTB ive seen before, inc my old one.

Yeh, my thoughts on it was that the bore was the main thing I was after for the TB's. The price I got it for was much much less than it would have cost me for a 2.5" manifold back stainless system to be made- regardless on whether it actualy is a 'real' BTB - the car does feel like it just wants to pull through the revs, suppose there's no real way of knowing it's origin.
It has a subtle sound which is nice as won't drone out the TB's

Right, have been looking at the old money situation, and I think a realistic deadline Roget the bodies on and mapped up by is going to be FCS.
This should give me enough time to sort the suspension and brakes, and get the bodies mapped up to give some good driveable results. Just got to live onbread and milk for the future now! Lol

Yeh is Porsche in Ferndown, having the car up on the ramp means you can do things in half the time.
I have a soft spot for keeping the Westcoast interior for now - keep the stealth look
If I was to track it a lot in the future I'd strip it out and get a cage welded in!

All i know is that John told me it was one of the first batches of BTB's he ever had made. Looks like youve got it fitted nicely anyway mate, and pretty cool that its been fitted to 2 16v westies now
And just to prove the bore...

Whether it's a btb or not (how many other Saxo exhausts are 2.5" from manifold back?! so I don't see any reason to doubt it) it's a stainless system 2.5" from manifold back - cost me much less than a new piper stainless cat back exhaust - bargain!
Yeh, keep this exhaust on TB'd Westcoasts!!
