Sorry for the double post.

Thats my worst fear, spending time on something that im getting fuck all from. I haven't been able to use my alarm for a few weeks, the hour it come back from the mechanics the alarm has been going off every 2 minutes, literally. Got to the point where neighbours knocked on my door about it. Seems like this is why, my alarm has been going off because the battery has been getting no feed from the alternator. Thats my only proof so far. Saying that, the cable ties have been seen around my strut and around my horn, something which wasn't there before, and they tried looking at my horn for it not working on the MOT and took it off, I told them it was a fuse and give them the fuse, they put the fucking thing in the Engine Bay fuse box in a random place where a 30a fuse was. I went down there after the MOT and asked why the horn was still not working, they showed me where they put it, I had to grab it out and shove it under my dashboard fuse box, they didn't even realise a fuse box was under the dash!! /Rant

It is gutting, he can do his own car alright, he owns a 500bhp Impreza, but for drivers like me, wow, he seems to have taken no notice, yet he won't admit it. The problem is now, where to these wires come from, and where do they go? We couldn't find the bit where the alternator wire has come off from, nor what the other few wires connect to. Left me in a shite position

Unless there's someone on here with a ridiculous knowlege of Looms... Have you tried a Haynes?
Best bet being BeenieMoo for answers I think, Or maybe Fisher as he is doing his loom now, might be able to give you a better insight.... But surley where the wires have been wrapped around the drive shaft have fucked them?

Yep its fucked them, I ain't sure where the rest of the wire has been torn from, I need to weigh the costs of getting the Loom repaired, or getting a 106 GTI loom from somewhere and replacing the loom altogether.
My neighbour give me a shout 2 minutes ago to bring it down to his work place and we can have a better look once its on the ramps. I can get it started if I attach the battery pack to it, but once the Brake lights are pressed the power dies and it goes, so I need a clear run somewhere so I can 'Break down' to be recovered and taken to the Volvo place.. All this effort just because of a shit garage. Feel like a mug slightly.

Mate, that's bloody awful what they have done, To be honest matey, it'll be cheaper to get a new loom all together mate.
Use the pics you've taken and take them to trading standards. There's obviously proof they need to touch the wiring if they replaced the gearbox as they need to disconnect the speedo sensor, Reverse light sensor etc, So they've blatently just sabotaged your car. As they said to you they didn't touch the wiring?
Still got a receipt from them? As that'll be some sort of proof aswell

The Mechanics is a 10yard walk from my house mate lol.. Im driving to my sisters (400yards away) and leaving it there, when my neighbour rings me, I will say it needs recovering. His work is literally 2 miles from my sisters, but you have to go through a few sets of traffic lights to get there. Great times haha

Think of the positives, if the engine runs ok until you use the electrics, at least its not fucked like you first thought. A replacement loom must be cheaper than swapping the engine (or does it not work like that?)

Feel gutted for you mate.
How about if you go into the shop and just say your going to Trading Standards, hopefully they might react then and do something? Only a thought buddy?
Hope you sort everything out.
