Think they do both versions. That one I linked too looks like it goes in the rad, judging by the length of the probe, but they are available with a short sensor that fits in the top pipe and takes a reading off the water entering the radiator

thats probably the better one to have, in the pipe taking water reading,
dont like the look of the other one.

the hole that the oil goes in may be blocked up.. just take the follower out and give it a good clean and make sure its oiled up nice.

engine is fresh build bottom up ain't it? only thing I can think of is either assembly mishap or the usual case of bit of oil in it leave for a while and gets gunged up

I'd replace it mate, put it in oil and see if it looks to fill up with oil? Or if you can squeeze it with oil in?
They new followers? From newmans?

Yer depends how long ago you got them as they changed back to the same as citreon use, so if it was last than a year, it be the sane followers as citreon sell for the engine.
Yer when it hard means it go oil in it, they springy when empty, so guess it that one is not get oil or not taking the oil.
Maybe replacing that one, if you can.

Are they new cams? Or old cams?
New followers or old ones?
If you wana go jp4 in 6 months time, then I'd simply replace one follower.
