Default Yet another central locking problem

Is there anyone near me (Westerham) who can help, I have a four door Mki Saxo, and the c/l has completely died. I've removed the ECU and am looking to "borrow" a replacement to see if that's the issue. I've checked the fuse and the wiring in the drivers door, plus I've cleaned the contacts on the door harnesses, but beyond that, I'm stuck
Any help / parts would be great

I've now worked out that the clicking noise comes from the ecu as I've temp reconnected it, and had my wife pull the door pins up and down while I held it. The only extra bit if info I now have, is the passenger door pin feels very stiff, don't know if that makes any difference :-/

Check the each of the actuators with a direct feed to rule out any of them failing. Is the passenger door closed when your trying the door pin?

Any idea what cable is the earth? As I can't really see inside the door , I can only feel my way around.
I tried it with the doors closed but had the windows open so I could get to the door pins easily

Without pulling mine apart again I couldn't say which wire would be the earth but the plugs come out easily enough to be able to get a test meter on them

Managed to look at a wiring diagram, if it helps, the earth cable should be green/yellow stripe found in the front doors only. If it's working on the main locking control unit it should be pin 2 and on the infra red receiver it should be pin 1

Does anyone have a pin layout diagram for the harness connector of the A pillar?

Is that going to the receiver for the lock system? Mines a basic setup of no remote but got a Haynes manual with wiring diagrams

Mine has no ir near the sunroof, it was purely operated from the key. I too have a Haynes manual, but owning a 306 cabriolet before this, I found that the colours for the wiring are "what ever we have closest to hand" seems to be the norm, having said that, the can was a French designed car that was built in Italy and finished off in France so I have no idea which country did what bit lol

I haven't tampered too much with the electrics in mine yet and what I have done hasn't needed diagrams yet but on my last saxo I was quite lucky as all the wires seemed to be matching up in most places, I think it was the ignition wires that seemed to be pick "n" mix when it came to alarming it lol

Very true as almost every guide I found, told me to tap the blue cable for accessory live and that turn out to be the link to the starter motor, so that's where the remote start was run from

Glad you got it sorted. Will use this as a few pointers as I've recently picked up a vts with no central locking but due to the weather I've not managed to start messing with the electrics yet. Hoping it's something real silly but never know, any major problems and it will just encourage me more to rip out or the locking as well as the security to add a whole new system instead.
