Default HTC One...

Thinking about getting this or the S3.

I know the HTC is a really good phone but its this 4g thing that I don't get.

4G plans with 500 MB limitation and I'm thinking, is it really worth it ? You'd frape 500 MB in ten minutes with a 12 MB/s connection.

Also, why are other networks offering 4G phones then they can't feckin support it ?

I have seen the standard 3G S3's go down in price. So contemplating one of those.

What you rekon ?

Frape, as in facebook rape... Using facebook, it would just load quicker, not use more allowance for you using the same usage on facebook..

They are offering it, because they will get it before long.. Its like the PS4 is on sale now, you can't have it, but you can pay for when you can have it..

Frape as in fucking rape, nothing to do with FB.

However, we were surprised by EE's 4GEE tariffs. The pricing was always going to be high, but we didn't expect to see such meagre data allowances. It's absurd that a 500MB plan even exists. With a 4G connection was running at 10Mbps (a speed you'll typically achieve), you'd burn through that data in less than seven minutes.

Yet, EE suggests you wind down on your commute home by streaming a film. Given the faster connection, you'd probably want to stream it in HD. That's 3.2Mbps if you're streaming from BBC iPlayer, so a typical two-hour film would use just under 3GB of data.

I dont have an issue with 3G in terms of speed when it works.

My issue is actually getting the 3G to kick in sometimes. Your phone will indicate that its connected, but do absolutely nothing. I imagine 4G will be worse.

This is with o2 / Tesco.

I might try Tmobile / Orange, in the hope i get a better signal.

You say that mate but its actually smaller screen than the Sony XZ or Galaxy S4.

I am referring to the new HTC One. Not the One X.

Its meant to have the best screen on any phone out.

The one with the speakers on the front. They sound fuckin brilliant apparently. No more tinnyness.

Ultrapixel camera is better in low light. At the sacrifice of a few megapixels but no bother.

The 1.7ghz quad core and 2 Gig RAM sounds like it should last the length of the contract.

I actually prefer the bigger phone. I remember back in the day when i had a Sony Ericsson t610 when that first came out all my school friends said it was a brick Lol. http://www.mobilemb.net/wp-content/u...12/06/T610.png

If anyone is thinking of getting one, you will not regret it.
It's quality.

Proper review please... I'm seriously tempted to ditch my iPhone for the first time... I've had 3g/3gs/4 & currently a 4S, not a huge fan of the iPhone 5 for some reason...

Really good phone mate. There are some slightly off build issues from the first batch which should be ironed out now.

When you see the build quality you realise how easy it would be to get it slightly off. But I'm pretty sure HTC have ironed out any initial quality control issues. They were just little things like a dead pixel or slightly misfitted speaker grill.

Screen - amazingly vivid. Initially on opening it literally shocks you, how sharp it is.

Camera - fast shutter 4 ultra-pixel takes really good party pics and flash is capable of judging how powerful it needs to be. Its not brilliant in terms of blowing up your pics after, such as a 13mp snapper would be ( MP is size ), but for someone like me, who takes pics of friends on nights out and videos in clubs etc., it's brilliant.
Just to compare I'd say it takes better pics than my old sony ericsson arc S. Which at night just filled you with blur...... this lens is so quick, you always get a sharp image.
Screen touch refocus is great too.

"Zoe" function is absolutely quality for taking that perfect snap. As is "Highlights", which shows you an automatic montage of all pics taken on that date..... It's an amazing function that you WILL use to show your pals what went on the night before. It puts music with it too and added FX. Really cool.

Case is lovely, metal finish is great, feels weighted nicely in the hand - real premium device.

Video recording is amazing mate. I took a video in a nightlclub with the music blasting and the dual membrane Mic is like nothing i've ever heard in terms of sound quality from a phone.

BoomSound from the two front speakers is just class. Really loud and bassy. You could quite easily watch a whole movie on this phone.

Its fast as fuck, it will blast any games.

What more can i say..... It definitely will last you a two year contract. Its the best phone ive owned...

Oh yes, music through the headphones provided ( in ear buds ) is amazing quality.
