Which is positive & negative ?
Ok so i removed my rear speakers and the plugs from the cables but forgot to note which one of the cables was positive and which was negative being the womble i am hmmm.
I think the wires are black and brown if i remember rightly trying to remember from memory ?
I need to know which of these is positive and which is negative is there anyway to test this at all ?
Thanks in advance

The speakers will work either way they are connnected they sound ok now but wanted to double check but now i think about i think the wires are black & brown its just a pain getting to them as they are behind the rear panels but will pull it apart at the weekend to double check.

So you referring to the wiring diagrams in there ? Haynes manual aint exactly great in my opinion as half the time it dont even have reference to the VTS but i will take a look and see if i can work it out from the diagrams but would it not have been easier to have just said that in the first place ?

Put a meter across the cables with a song playing if u have them the wrong way it will read in a minus voltage.

Am I right in saying that the speakers can get damaged by having them the wrong way round, with the magnet doing the opposite of what it should be doing

Nah, just the speaker pulls instead of pushing, so sounds a bit odd. Also out of phase if each is wired differently.
