Default Harmonic balancer

Hi, i was checking the drivebelt on my saxo 1.5D lately as im getting a squealing noise from the belt area, the belt is not very old, maybe 20000kms, it has no cracking in it, i checked the tensioner it hasnt got any roughness when i turn it, it has a very small amount of play, but the surface in which the drivebelt contacts it is very shiny and worn. On another note i noticed that the harmonic balancer is very cracked the rubber is falling apart, should i replace this? If so do you guys know any good brands apart from citroen ? Thanks!

Dayco, Gates, INA, SNR, Febi-Bilstein all make pulleys for this engine and all good quality.

Definitely replace it, if it falls off it can cause a bit of damage in the engine bay - worst case is it shatters and goes through the plastic into the timing belt. Plus it'll be sapping power if it's not perfect.

I found one corteco brand, read reviews people say its good and its at a good price, also considering in replacing the alternator belt tensioner also, can you just replace the pulley only? Or o have to buy the whole tensioner with bracket?

I think the tensioner is 1 piece, it's been ages since I last looked at a 1.5d pulley.

If I'm at my garage later I'll look at the pulley and see if there's a hex bolt hiding on the back of the bearing.

Yeah Corteco is good quality normally.
