Default How to be sure that gearbox will fit C2 (Saxo, 206...)

Hi,

I have Saxo 1.6 VTS and it kind of have eaten all the boxes I have had.

Now I have C2 1.4 VTR and acquired and 20CF09 (Peugeot 206) gearbox for that but it doesn't fit?

I really thought that as long as the engine is the same for 206, 207 C2 C3 it would fit.

So what would actually fit for this as I was damn sure that this 20cf09 would fit. What is the right way to confirm that it will fit (other than photos and trying).

the C2 is VF7JMKFVC97029339 and it shows as:

Ok, answering myself as I'm now pretty sure how to determine it right:

If access, check from service.citroen.com from manual gearbox, what part codes does it give.

For mine, it gave CPB4 and CP24

Then check from the donator car VIN (last 8 numbers is enough) that it has the same part codes. That should be 100% sure fit.

Now additional question, if for some donator I see that it has eg. CF25 and CQ13 also as part codes, can I now safely assume that for my car also those two would be 100% fit?

Is there any other way to be sure or get the whole list of spares that will fit?
