Such a good build. did you have any complications when fitting the cage. Iam getting the same cage in a few weeks time?

Thanks mate. It's pretty straight forward to fit. Just need to weld in the four boxes that the cage mount to.

Small update...

We've acquired some more parts for the car over the last few weeks.

New silicone 90 degree reducer for the intake...

This is now the correct size for both the throttle body and the procomp. It's also a little longer to take into account how far we've moved the intake forward now we've cut the slam panel.

Rear window from ACW...

New TRS door pull straps...

For some reason they come with a 14mm hole in them. I just wanted to use an M8 bolt so I whipped up a couple of top hats on the lathe to reduce the hole size...

That's it for now.

Small update...

Managed to get a free weekend to go and work on the car.

Started by finishing the intake off and fitting the new 90 degree reducer...

I modified the procomp a bit by removing the front panel and giving it a quick paint.

Before...

After...

When the bonnet is closed...

I then set about fitting the new TRS door pulls. The original ones I made from a pair of cheap dog leads were looking a bit tatty and were mounted too low. When you pulled the door closed, you got your hand trapped between the door and the cage.

Fairly straight forward to fit, just measure, drill, rivnut and then bolt them on...

The bend in the mounting plate matches the curve of the door nicely...

Next up was the dash centre. That was just a case of reattach the battery cables and bolt it in...

Pretty happy with how it looks.

That was it for work at home. I took the Satchshift base plate back to work to remake it out of carbon.

This is what the original looked like...

New aluminium tube for the rubber boot...

Marked up a bit of carbon...

Starting cutting it out...

All finished...

Pretty happy with the results and it's 280g lighter

Awesome progress blog lots of hard work gone into this build. Think I have order the same cage. Is it safety devices?

Do you do engine building as a career? Would you consider porting and polish a VTR head

Ever thought about making more of the carbon Satchshift plates?
