Default Standard front suspension replacement cost?

Hi all, wondering if anyone can answer this one please?
MOT due soon on my Furio and fearing a fail?
Always had some squeaking from somewhere and the car does snake a little on braking into corners. I know the brakes are all good.
Looked at MOT history and numerous advisories hi-lite 'front suspension ball joints loose...front n/s and front o/s.
Somehow, the car always passed a re-test, but up popped the same advisory a year later. Last MOT showed nothing and may have ignored the problem?
What is the ball joint on suspension? Is it the bottom bit that bolts onto the car? Or am I confusing myself and its actually 2 issues, 1st front ball joints, 2nd front suspension?
I 've had just a n/s front ball joint replaced before on an old 1993 VW Golf and it was £30 fitted....back in 2010.
Thought you just got clunks from worn ball joints, not sqeaking and crazy steering like my VW had lol!
FINALLY...IF I had to replace both front suspension struts at a backstreet garage, any ideas on the cost?

Perhaps I shouldn't have used the IMPORTANT tag?

Hi I don't know if you still need help with this but the ball joint is a part of your suspension it connects the wheel hub to the lower suspension arm, it can cause erratic braking and handling when the ball joint wears out I have recently had to replace a track rod end and inner steering arm (ball joints) on my Clio on the same side because it was all over the place when accelerating, with regards to costs it can vary depending on where you get the job done but you are probably looking somewhere between 1-2 hours labour charges plus the part which I think they are only available with the lower arm but im sure someone more experienced will be round to confirm that, try eurocar parts to get an idea of the part prices
