right...
uninstalled flash and done fresh install about 5 times...nothing!
thought fuck it, ill try Internet explorer... it promted me for the latest version of flash player when i tried paying music... (already had it ) but it still wouldnt work on chrome
tried IE again and itll work on IE...so
think its somehting to do with the plug ins in chrome..the previous link you sent, i tried that, but i have two plug ins..neither one of them is the one that it wants me to keep
and either or/both disabled doesnt allow sound at all (even mutes the vids on youtube where the others play, just not sound)
so
what do i do now

What OS? Left click sound icon in bottom right and click on 'Mixer'. Will give you options for sound levels on all of your applications, including your browser and plugins such as flash. Or right click on the sound icon and click on 'open volume mixer'.
Should get something like this if you're on windows 7:

you could try installing divx
divx has a webplayer that'll replace the flash player on youtube. Apparntly the divx webplayer is quicker and better.

Is this every video or just one in particular, this may be a stupid question but only saying because on some videos the sound infringes copyright so they remove it

Could always go nato and put all your files/music etc on an external HD or sticks depending on how much you have on ya PC and just reset your pc to factory settings. Then you'd know for sure if its a hardware or software issue. Plus if it was spyware or anything like that causing the issue it would be deleted
