Tv's how big is too big!!!!!!
Hi all, we are looking to get a new tv as we lost the last one in the house fire. Our last one was a 55inch.
Question is what to get next.

Is this too big or not big enough!!!!

You can buy a sexy car for that price!
Much more than 50" is a bit over the top imo, but hey... if you like big TV's - get a big TV!

Plasma'a are better for over 40"/50" i think it is. You need to be sitting at least 3.5 times the screen size away from it to benefit from it as what im told by work.

32" is big enough for a bedroom, for a main tv no more then 50" tbh, projectors are good, but it means you need a wall with Nothing on it

Tbh in my opinon 50" would be big enough for anyone.. any bigger is ridiculous unless you have a pub/bar or extremely nice big house lol

Our 43" Toshiba does the job at the moment, but its only a rear-projection, so quality is only so-so I'd rather get a slightly smaller (37 for our living room would be perfect) plasma HD tbh.

It doesn't matter how many times you tell people, plasmas simply don't burn out!!!!!!!!!!
Picture quality, as already said is better over 37" on a plasma. It depends on 2 factors really. 1) the size of the room and where you will position it and 2) how far away from the screen you are.
We have a 18' x 16' lounge with our screen on the chimney breast and we sit directly in front of it on the opposite rear wall about 13' away and our 50 incher is fine.
Also consider the quality of the screen. Poorer quality ones will emphasise imperfections in the picture
