Wind behind us? I believ the speedo is 10% out on all cars, so if you were ding 113mph you'r really doing 10% less the that, 101.7 ?

not quite 10%, i know at 70 its 3mph out as someone had a gps tracker test a while ago on here i belive.. or 106owners...
but the 1.1 clocks only go to 110?

no a turbo 1.1 would be quicker my dear friend, tbh its people telling porkies and or its not a straight road... down hill etc... but as i stated, it would take far to long to get to top end in a 1.1 any way so where have they been doing this, certainly not on track...

i dont think the speedos are out that much tbh
if it was then we would be doing about 8mph standing still according to the dials, but it sits on 0 on my car at least, even had my road angel on and there just about right, it also has a lot to do with tyre size etc

tom toms, road angels, their not propper gps timing equipment
even so , 0-20 its about right, then 30-50 it starts to drop 1/2mph behind what the clocks state..
etc etc really need to find that link, cant remember if it was on here, ssc, 106oc, or rr

oh yeah my old 1.1 used to crack 120 when it wanted to work on track at oulton park

Lol i cant believe what some of you do to your cars, 55 in 2nd. 1.1's going 115. I only done about 80 in my VTR down motorway, most of the time thou just stick to 70.

i gotta 1.4 westcoast and i can only get that to about 100 on motorways, HOW THE HELL do you get 113 out of a 1.1!!!???

I dono.. I've had just over 115mph. All of you think its bullshit but oh well.. It did take for ever and i think the conditions were perfect.. A cold motorway, cold breeze etc..
Very scary when you consider your only sitting in a car with a 2* Saftey rating (First thing that i thought anyway)

not a saxo but my lil 1.2 clio(96) had a 4 speed box and used to do 64 in second and could get about117 tops, i thought the clocks were miles out so i got my m8 to follow in his vectra and they were nr perfect

I did have a turbo on mine hence speed old 1.1 mpi rarely went over 100 in that on track
