is it easy enough to source a 1.9?
going to get andy to map it as best as he can so i can run it about for a bit until everything beds in then take it to Atspeed and get it fine tuned

pretty sure gmc sell the 1.9mm although a thread in engine section wouldn't go amiss for other sources, would speak to mappers locally see they will map on tuner studio anywhere should but I know atspeed aren't big fans of ms based systems mainly omex

ive just looked at the GMC website, going to go for a 1.9 gasket and ditch the decomp plate.
Atspeed are one of the closest to me, the other is AMD essex, ill speak with them and see if they could do it, I think Atspeed mapped my friends vts on throttle bodies with a pred.

well, engine has been stripped back down,
Decided against using the decomp plate.
The HG was going to use with it was a 1.5mm one, am i ok using this or better off fitting the 1.9mm one?
In the mean while all of last week, my car decided to twat about! kept cutting out and idling at around 3k rpm.. annoying in traffic to say the least!
Replaced the map sensor and ICV and all is good in the world!
The slimline fan turned up in the post this week, and all my bits for my oil feeds will be here soon

i put the head back on yesterday, new stretch bolts and what not.
Thought it would be a waste of a HG (and money) not to use it, see how it goes, Hopefully be ok!

No major updates,
Ordered a new LC-1 wideband lambda today, some saab injectors and that should turn up this week.
If i wasnt going fishing in france this month, it would probably be going in. But a few things are on hold.
Hopefully next month it will go in

im starting to get some brake squeal when braking lightly in traffic, and its pretty embarrassing lol
The wheels dont look odd at all tbh, no rubbing on the arches.
i think it looks ok,
Ill take a pic tomorrow and you can make your own opinion on it

Track n' Road (Essex) don't mind MS systems at all as they are one of the most experienced mappers in the country and are generally regarded as one of the best mappers in the UK full stop. Prices are incredibly reasonable too. I'm good friends with Steve Greenald who maps there and his knowledge and experience is staggering. I highly recommend them. One word of caution - they don't bullshit their power figures

Ross, you are awesome!!
I will most certainly give them a call in the coming month or so, it was a choice between AmD and atspeed, but if you recommend them, cant argue with that

Good lad. Say Hi to Steve for me when you call
Re your brakes - pop the wheel off and check the offset of where the disc sits in the caliper - is it in the middle or offset to one side? There are some xantia discs that dont have the correct offset and it might be down to that.

definately offset.
it doesnt sit in the centre of the caliper.
When the squeal gets really bad, ill probably look at the Gti6 ones

Have a look through my progress thread from ages ago. I used 405 discs that sat almost perfectly in the middle. I might have put a pic or model number up if you're lucky... Was years ago but I never had any issue and I always thought other people with the squeal was because of this. Worth looking into maybe
