induction kit help
Alright folks.
Can anyone explain this to me....? I want to make my own induction kit/ cold air feed. Looking at the engine bay, where the pipe meets from the air box meets the rocker cover on my saxo vtr, there is another pipe (from where it meets the rocker cover) that branches off to the left and disappears. What is this and where does it go?
And what is the diameter or the tubing required to attach to the throttle body?
Cheers

I found this picture elsewhere on the forum but looks exactly the same as my car. If you look at where the pipe joins the rocker cover from the airbox, there is another thin pipe branches off to the left... what is this/ where does it go? Also.. why is it some engines have a small filter here instead? Is that an option?
Cheers

I think it's a bit of a mess lol as the lil filter needs to be moved and needs a clean. It dosent look like that now as it's a bit more cleaner lol and soon getting a viper induction kit and some red silicone pipe to make it look better.

Right i see, so ill be ok to use a separate filter. Are those little filters a direct fit onto thw yellow clip? I'm gna custom build cold air induction kit even though i know hardly anything bout cars.. shouldn't think its too hard.
Where have people found the best place to route cold air feed? Ive been looking around and it looks quite tight... want it direct as possible.

Here's what I did to mine. Cut off the plastic pipe that goes to the air box and kept the elbow on the rocker cover. Just fitted a hose over the top of it to a small filter seems to do the trick.

Sweet mate, simple enough. What is the inside diameter needed for the pipe to the rocker, and the pipe from the the air filter to the (throttle body?)
Not too up on names of parts..
Cheers
