I got out of my car yesterday and when i got back in it would not start, the fuel pump wasnt priming checked the fuse box there was a blown fuse cant remember wich one so i relaced it still would not start. Then i ran a live to the fuel pump it came on but no fuel flowed to the rail? does anyone have any idears or theorys?

Try pressing the fuel cur off reset button at the top right of the engine bay. My alternator recently died and after replacing it my fuel pump wouldn't work. Checked the fuse then bought a replacement pump. The replacement didn't work but I had mentally disregarded the cut off as there hadn't been any bump but in the end it just needed pressing! Hope this helps.

pressed the cut off button and still nothing. Its the 8v engine, the car was fine before i turnedet it off but earlyer that day i forgot to put the bleed valve back on the little dust cap and the coolent emptyed it self all over the engine and over heated but it still started a number of times after i put coolent in drive it a good 6 mile parked up tryed to start and here i am with this problem.

just because it starter after it had overheated doesn't mean it hasn't damaged the head or the head gasket.

Get a compression test done and coolant pressure test.

Just had a rebuild done just before the problem. There was no petrol in it and i took the pump out and it wasnt pumping propley also when i turn the ignition the maf sensor clicks constanley and gets hot to touch the crank position sensor was totaly soked in side the plug, there is a spark but i dont thĪnk the injectors are firing?? There is a click from the fuel pump relay?? So i am lost?

One thing at a time mate... you'll never solve a problem if you're going to try everything at once.

These cars don't have a MAF sensor. Where is this part fitted that gets hot and is clicking? If it's underneath the ECU it's the fuel injection relay.

When you blew a fuse, exactly which fuse did you blow?

If there wasn't much fuel in the tank, the fuel pump could have drawn air. This can cause old fuel pumps to fail and draw excess current. Which can blow fuses and damage relays/wiring.

If you are definitely getting a spark, then the crank position sensor is working.

thanks for all the advice, the car is now running. i put all the sensors back in and the relays after drying and getting all water from there conectors tested all there values, evreything was fine and it fired up and runs a little roughf? may be the plugs need changing and the rev counter is slow returning to idle from about 2-3 back down plus the idle is a little fast?

Idle control valve.

As above do it in steps, you can't solve everything at once. I'd start with changing the plugs if you're not sure.
