Xbox keeps breaking
I have had my current xbox for just over a year and about a month ago I got one red light (bottom left) and error message E74. I set about buying an x clamp fix kit and fitted that about 2 weeks ago, all was fine for about 3 days then got another error message E73 (Supposed to be ethernet cable port) which can be true as when I have it connected my picture goes slightly liney and fuzzy.
I fixed that problem by over heating the xbox by disconnecting the fans.
I now get the E74 message every 2 or 3 days. I have tried loosening the screws on the mother board and then tightening them but it still keeps coming back.
Does anyone have any ideas (dont say buy a ps3 either) or should I buy a new one?

Try sending it back off to microsoft.
They took my mates back after like 2+ years.

Well yeah as I've had it apart and fitted an x-clamp kit which has voided the warrenty.
Also when it originally happened I called microsoft and they said it would be £60 to fix it as the warrenty has ran out.

Needs the solder re flowing / re balling.
If you keep overheating it eventually the chips will come loose then fall off.

That's what he's doing already, if you keep doing that method the GPU will come away from the board.

you got to move the heat shield over the GUI mate and put it in the correct place, xbox made a mistake when they built it made the disk drive to big.
