Depends what you like really?
For me it's usually the line up:
GTA4 - good story, has driving, good AI, good shooting.. good multiplayer and generally a good game.
Fallout3 - immense, takes a bit to get into but well worth it.
Gears of war 2 - action after action "back in your hole!" Multiplayer is good too.
COD4 - silly reasons really, good story, good graphics (at the time, have it on PC and sexbox) and good multiplayer
Resi5 - good story, fast paced action, great graphics.
Halo3 (only really good with mates and online I find) - good online, stories a bit poor.
Forza2 - realistic racing game, lots of customisation and tweaking, online is a bit of a drag
The orange box 4 good reasons, Portal, HL2, HL2 episode 2 and team fortress 2

There isnt a 'best' game.
I had 4 friends online earlier, all were playing CoD WaW.
Ive never played it.
You cant beat Bomberman Live from the arcade for a quick jump in and play as it has a high fun factor with several game options and modes.

What else do you have? Grid was a really good racer to, not played that for a while either.
