well he did need it....
Its a safety device. You probably have a weaker neck after a serious whiplash injury. I will have one for trackdays. In fact i'm happy to wear a racesuit as well. End of the day I dont want to be injured more than I have to be.

Nothing but a great idea imo, anything to improve safety is always a positive. Think more people should buy stuff like this

yes my thoughts exactly but the prices (+vat too) are not cheap, safety never is.
99%time i do wear a 3 layer nomex suit, tee, gloves and boots.

Dunno if youd ever be going quick enough to get a "one oclock hit", but fuck getting any kind of neck/spine injury.
Money well spent Id say.

Any extra safety device is a good investment in my opinion! You may never need it again but it is piece of mind. Fucking your back and neck can ruin you for good!

definatly a good idea --too late afteryou hit something solid (remember nigel mansel at donnington in the modeo)
to say Iwish I had got one afterwards may not be an option
should also make all you lads think about having swirl pots + fuel ines inside the car --!!!!

The older style neck braces any good?
http://www.rallynuts.com/nomex-neck-...eck-brace.html
I know you shouldn't really cut corners on safety but I seriously wouldn't be able to afford a HANS setup!

I use a Neck brace as qrty has shown, well do sometimes.
It helps quite a bit anyway, I now have a newer one, which is similar to the Hans device.

Expensive, and something I wouldn't really use personally (Would just go with the old style above) - But if you can afford one then great buy, as has been said you can't really put a price on your safety.

The one ive got on my hans device allows me to turn my head a little bit. Which is quite handy when ive got cars passing me a lot quicker than me!

but of a update,
just had a trackday wearing this gear, sorry no pictures (pissed down most of the day)
fitting the hans can be a little frustrating first few times, i prefere to clip it in pick up the hand and helmet attatched and fit together. not the most dignified way but best if your on your own lol
once on and belts are tight, left to right movement (looking) is a little restrictive but once on track theres more than enough movement and you do forget your wearing it too.
