Lowering the steering wheel? - Saxperience

How hard would it be to do this? I'd like to lower it about 5-6cm but not sure if this is possible? Would it be as simple as making spacers or something along them lines if it is?

Ever since i've had the buckets in the saxo, im sitting much lower than with standard seats and the steering wheel just doesnt feel right to drive with and i normally end up using the bottom half of the steering wheel instead of the top. Would make it much more enjoyable to drive with it just that little bit lower.

Any help would be appreciated

Adding a spacer would bring the wheel closer to you but higher I think mate as the colum slopes up slightly. You could get taller sidemounts or just get some plates mate to go underneath your originals and just use longer bolts. This is the one reason I didn't buy a set of seats the other day.

simples!!
make up spacer block for column to suit
done it many times
you want your seat lowwr so don,t alter the side brackets --lower is better CofG and more space between head and roof or roll cage

I wanted my seats as low as possible and the seat rails have been pretty much welded as close to the floor as possible lol, Is the rack bolted onto something or on top of something? If its bolted onto something could you just use spacers and longer bolts?

dont think theres a guide thread but tbh a load of washers and some longer bolts would work

take the column surround plastics off and youll see the 3 13mm bolts going into the column support space it away from the support with washers and the plastics should even refit at the end

I did this in my nova as the wheels are way to high. Get the column shroud off and mock it up with some longer bolts and washers until its low enough, Then get some spacer's made to suit. Simples.

I was thinking of this the other day and found this on Lewis's thread! Not sure what the maximum drop is you can achieve as there must be a maximum angle the joint on the column can be at!
