Default Alternatives to 'off the shelf' car cleaning products

Brands to use other than car cleaning brands!

I have used a number of car cleaning brands over the years and found a lot of them to be very dissapointing to be honest, and very overpriced. So i thought i would put a few products up to use other than off the shelf branded car cleaning products. Will also save you a bit of money in these tough times.

Wheel cleaning - Mr muscle oven cleaner

Spray on a light mist of foam, leave for 5 mins, then rinse off, only use on standard painted rims as its very strong, DO NOT GET IT ON YOUR PAINTWORK. Much better than wonder wheels and like products, very good for wheels that have heavy brake dust.

Window cleaning- Windolene spray

Spray on then wip off with a good quality microfibre cloth, no residue and a lot easier than the auto glym creams etc

Leather cleaning - Lord Sheraton Leather shine

Spray on and massage into leather, simple! Great smell, great shine and gets rid of all the dirt.Leaves leather supple.

Interior cleaning - Sugar soap

Mix a pint of warm water with about 5 tablespoons of sugar, apply solution to area with a cloth to remove marks and stains etc. Rinse off with clean water

Tyre shine/bumper shine - Pure silicone spray

All tyre shines/bumper shines are just silicone spray at the end of the day, so use pure silicone spray as an alternative. Available at most hardware stores at a fraction of the price. Use as you normally would your tyre shine
