Snow Foam...

Heyyy! Just got a pressure washer.....finallly! Was basically wondering if i get some snow foam stuff, will i physically have to wash the car or do you literally spray it on, wait then spray it off? Sorry if im being ultra dumb but im just going by the videos ive seen on youtube

1) jet car down first
2) foam car and leave to dwell
3) jet foam off
4) wash car by hand

The foaming is just a pre wash to get rid of any loose crap and dirt.
