T-cutting Query
I once tried top T-cut my old SRi Astra and made a complete meal of it so I have refrained from ever doing this again.
Where would be the best place to get this done, to a good standard for my Saxo. It has some deep scratches which probably warrant being completely resprayed thus presenting a problem of 'should I just respray the whole car'
You have to appreciate I know very little about cars so excuse my ignorance.
Is there somewhere that specialises in this kind of thing?
Thank you forum members!

Post a photo or two of the poor paintwork. You'll be surprised what can be recovered. Saxo's are a coloured basecoat with lacquer over, so most scratches are in the lacquer and can be recovered from if not too bad. If the scratches are down to the basecoat/bare metal, then it'll need spraying.

Ok will do mate, she's in the garage at the moment for a number of reasons but once she's out, hopefully tonight, i'll post some up.
i know there's a very deep scratch on the bonnet which glimmers a nice silverish colour but apart from that the others are just your usual scratches and slight chips.
Ill post later

*Update*
Now I have my car back I thought I'd post a few pictures of the scratches that I wanna be rid of as they really bug me when ever I look at my shiny car and see this massive silver line!!
Are these t-cuttable as it were?? The first pic looks like a proper deep scratch so I doubt it...

by offside rear wheel arch. Keyed? (and my poor unused pug in the reflection) Excuse the dirt, this is before I washed the car.

Where can I get these professionally taken out?

They do look very deep, generally they say if you can feel a groove when using your nail to test it then at the most you will make it less noticeable but it will need the panel resprayed ideally.

Run your nail across the scratch, if it feels very raggy, then you'll never get it out.

I was going to try on of then paint touch up magic sticks from halfords?
Anyone got any experience with them?
Short of that I might just fork out for a new bonnet. That's the most obvious scratch out of them all.

Yeah the colour match is usually pretty shite tbh. Getting a new bonnet would probably be easier and in the long run cheaper.

Someone has done that on a detailing forum for stone chips and has worked (with wet sanding and da ofc). I'll try and find the thread

That'd be great thanks. The only other option is a bonnet bra.
Last resort!!

the easy way to tell if it will come out with t-cut is to wet the scratch and if it dissapppears then its only in the lacquer so it will buff out .
if it stays same then-- no its through the lacquer and needs painting

Nice idea. Seems I'm destined for a new bonnet then.
