Default detailing product recommendations

Currently running low on some of my detailing products, mainly comprises of autoglym and meguairs.

I have just invested in a karcher pressure washer and snow foam lance, now I want to focus on getting the best products available for my budget. Looking to spend no more than £150-£200 but I'm after the best I can get for that budget...

can people recommend the best bang for buck for my budget for the following items....

-shampoo
-snow foam
-wax
-polish
-alloy cleaner
-tyre dressing
-clay bar

I still have lots of internal detailing products so just need help on the above as it's not something I'm very clued up on ..

cheers

Shampoo wise i have used megs gold class and always been pleased.

Look at poorboy's waxes on cleanyourcar

Menzerna polishes give good results, again found on cleanyourcar

Megs endurance high gloss tyre gel is good also.

Spend approx £10 - £15 on a clay bar, you can just use some shampoo and water mixed in a bottle for lube.

I've used bilberry wheel cleaner, seemed ok, but i'm not that clued up on wheel stuff

I'm using that shampoo n tyre gel now... pleased with both but just not sure if better available.. love the gel stuff actually!

there are currently no tar marks whatsoever on the car as the front bunper has just been sprayed and I think it was detailed before I bought it. Just want to stay on top of tar/bugs etc.

could probably do with some wheel polish to as the gloss white wheels are a pain for brake dust especially with the xp8 pads.

Cheers mate I will look into those suggestions now!

I use ag hd wax, can't beat it. Recently have neglected the car as been away a lot and then short weekends so cars not been waxed in a few months, but done it and it looks immaculate and still beading.

If you haven't get it. Iron x, best thing ever for wheels imo then seal after. I also have a wheel brush to clean which was good. As you have said white wheels and brake dust u must get these!

Look in to a sealant for the wheels as well, will make them so much easier to clean in the future. With your budget you should be able to get a decent amount of each product as well.

I wouldn't bother with polish unless you are going to invest or borrow a DA or a Rotary, the results by hand are arguably minimal.

Look on cleanyourcar for products and check out the detailingworld forum for product ideas. There is a section where Pro's show of their work and list the products they use more often than not.
http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...play.php?f=129

If you are looking to clean it regularly then I would buy in bulk for some of it.

I tend to get Autosmart products as the bulk is cheap, about 18 months ago I got the following for £77

5 Litres of Duet Shampoo
5 Litres of Tardis (tar remover)
5 Litres of Fallout remover
5 litres of G101 which is an awesome all purpose cleaner.
5 litres of Smart Wheels

Seems a lot to shell out but has lasted me all this time and I wash once a week usually. Plus you dilute most of the above anyway so unless the car is really grubby, you can make it last. My G101 is nearly gone after 18 months but I use it on most things, including the engine bay and trim etc.

Autosmart has a great reputation and a lot of the Professional detailers use it.

For Wax I use Chemical Guys 50/50 which is a tad pricey but there are cheaper ones on cleanyourcar for £15-£25.
