Default Removing pistons and conrods

Just wondering when I remove my pistons and conrods, do they have to go back in the exact cylinder they came out of or can they go in any?
Cheers

Pistons and conrods are weighed before assembly to balance the rotating assembly.
It is important to replace the rods and pistons in the cylinder they were removed from as the components wear to the cylinder.

All engine internals should be replaced in the exact same order, as above the components wear differently and at different rates.

grab some scales and balance the rods and pistons, jafromobile done a vid on that too, cant be a bad thing.

but i would be putting them back where they were mind, use a machinists punch to mark which cylinder they came from, i do dice dots.
