Toying with an idea
Hello every one
I will explain my situation first. The other day I was on my way somewhere and exhaust started blowing bad, I got under my vtr and the lambda sensor had fallen off the exhaust as it rusted away around the weld on the cat.
So I want to know is it worth paying a couple quid extra to get a 4-2-1 manifold instead of a cat as my vtr had the cat on the down pipe,Also when it comes to mot time I would have to get a ph1 saxo under floor cat so all in all the mani and cat would cost me around £250
Other option is to buy a new cat for my vtr and get a race pipe witch will cost around £150 all in
I want my vtr to have a little more noise as the janspeed system is as quite as a oe one
So what's your opinion before I buy?

My plan is to get a induction kit on it but at the moment the air box has a hole in it from the previous owner removing the resonator so it's loud in that sense but like I said I need to get the exhaust sorted but not sure what to do, the manifold idea would lead to a headache finding a cat near mot time and cost £100 more than a standard cat and race tube as they are known or I just get a new cat and leave it at that lol

you will get a good dose of power by removing the cat. Probably around 5-6bhp

Yeah I know that's what is driving me forwards that decision but comes with complications when I need to get a cat for the mot

I think putting the Mk1 cat under the car only for the mot is the best option. So quick and simple - then swap back...

Yeah well mot is not until next September so I guess il be going for a decent mani
