Question diesel angine swap

Hi all, taking my diesel saxo off the road as it needs some work doing, alot of it engine work. I have cost it up and doing it myself im looking at around £800... Now im sure i can pick up another engine for a few hundred but what engines will swap with relative ease? Im not sure if theres any diesel engine i can pretty much bolt in with some wiring work etc without having to do custom mounts

For £800 you'll be able to replace it with another diesel saxo mate.

There are no other diesel engines I'm aware of that will simply drop in without fabrication work for mounts, the same goes for petrol engines really.

Yeah... I would like a little more power but custom manifolds etc is excessive i think... I was looking at the 1.1 gearbox for acceleration but a freind said something about a torque convertor?

Not sure what you mean... If there was a manifold available i would be going down that road. Reason i looked at engine swap was i can find no tuning parts for the tud5 engine and have no idea where to get custom parts made
