Gearbox Input shaft bearing replacement?
Took the gearbox off the car today - hoping it was just the input shaft seal that needed to replace, but the bearing is wrecked.
Does replacing that bearing require the box to be fully dismantled, or is there a shortcut if that's the only bearing I want to replace? Is possible to simply separate the main gearbox casing (undoing about a dozen bolts) to get to the input shaft bearing?
I've searched the forum, and looked at the gearbox guides in the premium section, but it's not clear. (Or at least it looks like I do need to fully dismantle the box and I'm hoping I'm wrong).
Advise would be much appreciated!
