Go for apex shocks if your on a tight budget. You can use the standard shocks as well but apex will be better.
Theres often 2nd hand shocks for sale in the for sale section.

Match them with some Apex dampers. Really 50mm is too low for standard shocks

They will have the same problem as your current dampers. Save your money until you can afford to buy the right dampers for the job.

Spax or apex are cheap and good, some spax are adjustable too.

theyre still longer shocks so will have the wrong travel.
the Apex shocks are shortened so they "match" the springs, giving a more reasonable ride

I ran standard shocks on a saxo with 70mm lowering springs and one with 50mm lowering springs for over a year and mine was fine. Was a lot more comfortable than now with stiff coilovers, but didn't handle as well!
You'll be fine on standard shocks, you only want uprated/shortened ones if you're after handling.
Although I think 70mm on standard shocks would kill them very quickly lol

The problem is effective damper movement. Your standard damper is not designed to operate that low. The issue is you will spend a fair amount of time hitting or sitting on the bumpstop which offers less predictable handling and ride. If people took off the dust cover and saw how little travel there is with a standard bumpstop you would be surprised. You could cut the bumpstop down but you will then be at risk of bottoming out the shock completely which is when internal wear is amplified.
A shortened damper is designed to run at a lower ride height so does not have this issue.

They knock like hell though! I want some B8 or similar shocks, then some sort of stiffer springs but keep the coilover collar so I still have some adjustability!
Can you sort me out?

most likely. What knocks? The damper itself? I dont see why with the right spring you can run a spring rate thats not too harsh.

Not sure, they're only TA technix so not the best. People were saying about the spring pans? But I want some better shocks and springs anyway.
Also both springs have settled so screwing the collar up and down does nothing and one side sits slightly higher and I can't adjust it
