The tyres tyes DONT have to match! Like i have two of one brand on the front and two of another brand on the back, so thats a fail according to that?
|
actually the tyre types DO have to match.
i would love to see you go to a MOT with radial and crossply tyres mixed on the same axle they will hahaha at you.
tyre type does not mean manufacture.
as long as its correct type [crossply, radial etc] and size.
search for different tyre types next time google etc.

4. Tyres
Tyres must have a tread depth of at least 1.6mm and have no cuts, cracks, bulges, splits or damage to the side walls and tread. Although the spare wheel is not included in the MOT, it must be legal if you have one so while you are checking your tyres, remember the spare.
The two front tyres can be a different type and size to the rear or vice versa, but they cannot be different if on the same axle so do check this.

mot rules stipulate you have to have 2 working brake lights.
the reason they have a high rise brake light is so if one brake light fails you still got two.

Rear reflectors
There must be two reflectors fitted reasonably symmetrically, securely attached and not obscured.
* Must be fitted to all vehicles first used on or after 1st April 1986, but if fitted, must be tested.
** Must be fitted to all vehicles first used on or after 1st April 1980.
My wifes 206 has got lexus rear lights with no reflectors fitted and hasn't failed an mot for the last 2 years like it, lucky bugger- i payed £150 for a garrented pass and still failed. some people have all the luck!!!

They only check basics, like exhaust emissions, seatbelts, cracks in windows & headlights etc, horn, braking system etc... they arent fussed on the warning lights on the dash. my car just passed it's m.o.t with the engine management light on & the car temp gage is constantly up & down making the fan come on every 2 mins lol. bloody pain in the arse car!!

So in thoery, my knocking noise shouldnt be a serious issue with the suspension as it has only done 20 miles since MOT. In theory....
