Still comes back to the fact that people could continously good/bad rep the same person if the restricitons were lifted.

cant you get the system to report when someone reps the same person more than say 3-5 times?

I like Tif's idea tbh, knowing who is repping you for good, or bad things... But in its sense, this could also lead to flaming, abuse, etc for bad reps given.

in all seriousness, want a full time job to check all the reports that would be generated?

A high rep score means that you must have helped a lot of people. Someone may help you lots of times and you want to reward them on each occasion, but if the multiple rep limit was removed then rep score would lose it's value.
An over-simplification I'll admit... but the rep system could be compared to asking everyone in the room (forum) if they approve of you.
All those who like you put their right hand in the air and all those who disapprove put their left hand in the air.
Even if you feel really strongly about someone, you can't put your hand in the air 10 times - that would be unfair.
I know a few people think the rep system is limiting as it stands, but without boundaries the system would be meaningless and open to abuse.
Everything that happens on Saxperience is considered very carefully to ensure the wellbeing of the whole community. Even if something seems crap, there's usually a good reason for it (although it may not be obvious).
What would happen in the general elections if people could vote as many times as they liked? How would you know who won?

Fair point Mark.
Few Q's though.
1) How many times you gotta spread the rep before repping a person again.
2)How many reps can you give a day.
secondly on the agenda,
Conservatives would win, and this country would have a better chance at sorting itself out

The guidelines used to run the rep system are purposely NOT made public... else if you knew you had to rep say 10 people before you could rep the same person again, you may choose to spam the rep system to give your 'mate' rep again.

If you get a bad rep for a valid reason then fine (for all to see ) but post the reason surely , not just the rep? At least that way you could maybe post one reply to the post and no more

i think there should be a report button next to rep
good or bad. when you click the red blob in your user cp, you can then have the chance to report it.
ive pm mods before and still had rep for stupid stuff.
Saying that. Gazzza is funny

would be a good idea to lower the limit befor u can rep same person again because as said earlier people are just repping people to be able to rep over again if you know what i mean, and that imo is not fair.
just recieved some rep also from an old post what does it mean when its grey ?

means the person who has repped you can't give you green rep so the rep is neutral.
