Your guide was soooooooooooooo helpful. My car failed it's MOT and i had to replace the wishbone, got my haynes manual, but that's mince compared to your guide.

It did take me absolutely ages, wishbones off ebay, didn't have the right socket size 18mm (ebay), had to wait on pinch bolts (ebay), realised i needed a 18mm spanner (ebay). Eventually got the fecker sorted today, and i didn't have to pay a garage £20+ an hour.

Your guide is clear and easy to follow, if i can do it anybody can...

Thank you sooooooooooo much..

Lol no worries, and better than a Haynes thats made me feel good

And it's probs better to get things like sockets and spanners from your local motor factors rather than wait for ebay, and the pinch bolts from citroen themselves if you've got one near

Hi guys. First post so be gentle.
Thanks to how easy this guide has made the job look I'm having a go myself tomorrow but I've never had the front of the car up on axel stands. I've had a quick look around for safe jacking points but want to clarify. What part of the wishbone do you use to initially raise the car, where the bush is bolted through or where the wishbone bolts through the floor on the rubber bit?

Thanks in advance

Where the bush is bolted through is fine to jack up mate. Then you can just put your axel stands on the jacking points

Thanks, Chris.

Job didn't go as planned today, old one came off fine but I cannot get the new one lined up no matter what order I fit the bolts. I've added some pics to show the difference in angle of the spur with the bush in (New left, old right). Have I got a dud part (eBay) or is it possible that the car's had a shunt in the past that could bend that part of the wishbone and the mount? Balljoint ends match up fine btw.

That looks like a right pain. Looks like accident damage

After comparing it to pics of other parts for sale on eBay I'm starting to think I've been sold a dud. At first I thought it was accident damage but I think the ball joint end of the arm would be first to bend plus it would be the old arm that was pointing back but it's the newer one that's the tighter angle.

Great guide just be careful not to unplug the driveshaft from the gearbox when separating/refitting the ball joint!

I only need to do the front left one to get through an MOT, will it be ok to do just the left one?

What is the complete list of parts needed for this? (not including tools)

Thanks in advance

Well it's advisable to do both, but you will get away with doing just one. Just make sure you keep an eye on the oldest one!

And not including tools all you really need is a new pinchbolt for the balljoint, a member swampy off here can supply a good quality one or you can go to citroen for a shit quality one

i know it was posted ages ago but,

best bet for tools is local shops. theyre cheap enough (couple of quid) and even if you're waiting on the bolt you can get the wishbones off in the meantime

Any advise given on what to look out for on wishbones and what to check to replace or any advise on when to change them as currently maybe need to change one on my car as its rusty and paint cracked. Is this just cosmetic and can get rust treatment done or is it jsut best to go grab 2 new wishbones and get them done?

Just check to see if the bushes are worn. Check the nuts under the floor too. (footwell)

Any knocking noises or out?

When you check under the carpet you have to cut a little bit of sound proofing to get at the nuts. If its uncut, it'll mean they've never been replaced in the life if the car so chances are the bushes will be worn and you may as well replace them both.

I notice that the bottom ballpoint has a curved part on the taper, should this have been in alight with the pinch bolt? I changed my driveshaft on the weekend and just put the ball joint and bolt back together without thinking.
