Once again bumping this instead of making a new thread, please can we have one? Finding group buys is a mission at the moment, seems to be one of the only forums that doesn't have one, would be a very useful addition.

+1 if group buys had a place to go more manufacturers would get more interest and we'd get better deals on stuff.

I linked Simo to this thread guy.............it would be nice but it would quite possibly upset our current affiliates if people started organising group buys for companies that dont pay to trade on the forum.
Its a tricky one really but im sure Simo will keep thinking about it for the time being and make you all aware (without me as the middleman) of his final decisions.

Would it not be possible to have a group buy section. But if the group buy is from a company not affiliated with this site, to have a surcharge of say £30-£40? For example the company would donate money to Simo once the group buy has been sorted. Even if this charge was added onto the items, group buy of 10 - extra £3 each isn't going to break the bank. I certainly doubt a company would turn down a group buy for the sake of £XX.
I don't know how much an affiliate pays per month but at least its still something that could go towards the site. We definitely need a group buy section though!

I don't think everyone would be able to post a thread in it or you'll end up with a load of pointless 'group buy' feeler threads.

Key point here for sure.
Definatelty a good idea though

Maybe it would be good if affiliates could start threads too?

why dont you have it so only the current affiliates can start the threads with their offers. if theres a proper place for it i c more group buys happening. good for the company and good for us + they stay happy as they start the threads
