dumb new rule, alienating a lot of users, so "higher post count" posters can hoover up all the stuff

are you stupid mate?

have you not seen the ammount of trouble nikhewwit caused? he scammed near £3k out of people

something has to be done to stop this, and the best way at the min is clearly ryans solution..

if a scammer cant see the for sale section, he cant pm people offering them goods, which to be honest if they accept is usually their own fault imo..

fair enough it stops the genuine people from selling.. but similar rules are on all kinds of forums.

people have been getting scammed even though everyone knows its happening because they dont take responsibility for themselves..

you dont like it. cancel your account and go somewhere else..

no mod or admin have been scammed

unfortunately people are so stupid to purchase something off someone who has very little posts and pm's them out of the blue saying they have this for sale.

the new changes wont please everyone but unfortunatly no other suitable option has been found so until one is, it stays as it is

Suprises me how many people think mods just think of a random idea and put it in place...

Without any debating, thinking etc.

Yes thats the problem, However we felt it was better to try and protect people in for sale and wanted, and keep members who are on here to use the forum rather than just sale sections happy.

Imo its more important to be able to help members via pm with questions about a car/garage maybe ripping them off, rather than them being able to see whats for sale. Most genuine members as i say build up posts quickly anyway.

ahh that explains it then. Was very confusing. Why block viewing it though? Isnt that pissing people off that are trying to sell stuff, that now most people cant view stuff forsale anymore

we blocked viewing it because the way people got scammed, was because people checked what people were selling/wanted, and then pmed them.

if they cant view they can see whats what and then pm.

fair comment, if buyers wont protect themselves then youve gotta do it for them. What about the forsale forum though, people pay or dont get the item.. not much scope for scamming there imo.

no i mean people with less can only view the forsale section not post. Thus only reputable people can post adverts, anybody is free to buy.
