Default New setup

Ok after haveing many discussions with a few chaps on here on how to lower my car it got round to coilovers witch ive now done abit of reserch on

see the problem was ive just recived my 16inch wheels with 20mm spacers and put them on so i was now looking to lower it so after looking at 40-50-60mm kits.

I didnt no witch size to get as i fought if i get the 40m might not be low enought vice versa if i got the 50m-60m kit it might of rubbed or been too low

so now im looking at coilovers so i dont have to worry about how high or low to go as i can just adjust it and fine tune until i get the perfect balance between grip how low it is and any rubbing issues.

so all i need now is a few pointers in the right direction of a colie kit ive got around the 300 mark so please post up any goodens thanx all

p.s i did find this anygood?

if im being honest mate, with a budget of 300-ish you will struggle to get a good set of coilies, unless you dont mind going down the 2nd hand route, just have a look around and dont rush into buying something untillyouve had a decent look

check the spring rate, you might find it'll be way too stiff for the road.

you can get a perfectly decent non adjustable setup which will be great for the road for less than that.

why do you want the adjustablity?

ive got some coilovers for sale in the classifieds if you're interested

read the first post bacially its because im not sure on how low i wanna go and dont wanna get the wrong kit also im fitting 20mm spacers on 16s with 40 profiles and will need to be tweeked quite abit to get it to sit right.

And i dont want any rubbing even if it means chopping the arches to bits so the adustability will make life alot easyier

im not ruleing out a damper kit but the one im looking at is just as expensive as a coilover kit thats the blisten kit with the 155lb springs

does the gaz kit come with rear dampers or is it just the fronts?

the bilstein kit is a good one, and offers good all round damping properties - there should be plenty of people with 16's with 40mm profile tyres, and they should be able to let you know whats a good drop with no rubbing

not knocking you going for the coilies, its just good to get a view of what else is available
