Peugeot 106 Air Temperature Sensor - Saxperience

Guys, im sorry i know this is saxo forum... But i can not find active peugeot forum, all are dead as it seems...

I drive Peugeot 106 MK2 1.1 petrol 44kW (1998), which is very much the same as saxo. Problem is when i drive 70-80 km/h and then i step on a clutch the rpm goes to zero and of course car turns off... This also happens when i step on the brake and clutch at the same time when im turning or i need to stop at the crossroad.

I was told that air temperature sensor might be the problem, but i do not know where to find it so i can test it and replace it if it is really the problem...

It won't be the air temperature sensor, it will probably be the Idle Control Valve.

You are right! When i unplug it, idle works great.

I borrowed one from friends car to test it, but i still got the problems... Am sure that his one is working 100%... Perhaps the problem with mine is the connector to the idle control valve, not the valve iteslf... ?

did you clean the hole it bolts onto thoroughly? ANY dirt can make the valve respond slowly which makes the engine hunt and cut out.

But yes there's a chance there could be a wiring fault. I would have thought the engine management light would be on though?
