Just the host or your connection mate. I get it sometimes when my brother goes online on his laptop, fucks my connection up.

My PS3 is wired to the net now with a really long ethernet cable. Wanted to get it as fast and as interrupted as possible.
I also unplug and plug my router everytime I am going to play COD4 online. Or it just says 'downloading settings' constantly when I try to play a match, the PS3 doesn't seem to like it if I've been on my laptop before I use it.
So you're not the only one with problems mate. I can tell if my brother uses his wireless on his laptop too even now when wired

Its most usually down to the host. Not much you can do about it tbh. Being on a wired connection will allow you to find more stable hosts but will not totally stop the problem.

You can't do much unless you're the host! Happy days then, it is almost like playing a different game.
