I MUCH prefer the new You tube app! It looks and works better! I have a problem guys don't know if anyone can help..........

iOS6 won't let my mums 4S update Twitter? She uses my iTunes account because she only has a Spanish Bank account.. She uses mine so she can use the UK App Store! Its worked up until the update... Anyone?

I don't get the new maps thing? Thought it was going to be more like sat nav but it really isn't.
I mean it has the distance to your next junction/or when you are next going to turn left or right but it doesn't change as you get closer to it!
For example, if it says 'take 3rd exit at roundabout in: 7.4miles' - that wouldn't change even when you get 0.5miles away from it.
Maybe I'm using it wrong just thought I might be able to use my phone instead of sat nav at work - obviously not!

Also, the view is from above which is shit compared to a normal sat nav.

As if!!! I've got a 4

I think the TomTom app costs a fair bit doesn't it? I do have the 'Navfree' app though, not really used it much but does seem to do its job.

TomTom is about £50. Or another way of looking at it, 10% of the cost of the iPhone 5...

Of course, if you're jailbroken, there are alternative (free) solutions available to you, but I'm not going go into that here

Yeh there's no way I'd pay £50 for the TomTom app, you could go buy an actual TomTom for not much more.
Try the Navfree app, don't need jailbreak or anything (still don't really know what that is) but as I've said, used it 2 or 3 times when my sat nav couldn't find an address and surprisingly did work -I just need a cradle for my phone to stick it to the windscreen.

Nav free works really well for me as a sat nav! And if that one is having a bad day then I also have Waze. Never had an issue with either of them.

Except then you need two devices in the car, two things charging, you dont get lifetime free map updates on the standalone tomtom, and things like facebook integration or traffic if their important to you require having the phone in the car with a connection to the tomtom.

There's several reasons the ipad/iphone tomtom is better than the standalone version

Is Tom Tom on iphone free to use abroad?

Like say I went to france would it cost me if I used it?

I didn't upgrade to ioS6 as I have a 4 and I updated my dads phone and see no differences really, can't even find the panaramic cam ting, guessing it is only for 4s.

Plus I have siri on my 4.

I have "western europe" tomtom, and "us and canada". So they work in their respective areas. If you bought the western europe tomtom app, it would work in France yep!

Ross he is meaning data coverage costs I expect. So down to your network and how the tomtom maps use your location.

Yes. Tomtom app doesn't require a data connection (as long as you don't want to share your location, get traffic info etc). It's completely self contained (unlike apple's offering of course!)

my 5 arrived this evening after what felt like an agonising wait. So now I get to properly mess around and tinker with iOS6. Some of the things I'm finding as I mess around I'm impressed with such as the tap to post to facebook from the notification box

Ironically a feature also available on the iPhone 4

Why did you get a 5? What clinched the deal? I can't justify it as nice as the phone is, it's fundamentally the same IMO (Cingular from a die hard apple fan)
