SAME!
Absolutely awful year
But on another note, if photography is gonna be an issue and variety something to consider, you ask members on here to donate pictures they have taken themselves if they fit your bill? I dont mean Phil whos just taken pics on his 3.2 mp cam phone, I mean serious guys on here like Ryan and Jungle-Jim, Sayer etc who shoot with SLR's regularly and have shit hot photos of their own cars aleady, each will be able to provide you with different cars too.... just a suggestion.
Do you have access to InDesign? Will be much easier to create and layout text and articles on there....
Have you thought of having a section on troubleshooting or a 'how-to-fit xyz modification' section...?
What are the actual marking criteria?
EDIT = serves me right for not reading whole post first but still...

Hey, thanks for the great ideas, the criteria is a little vauge, it needs to consist of planning before the project, then a professional magazine containing as many media as possible, photo's, text, artwork, graphs, charts ect
The 'How to' is a great idea, either how to install or how to fix then?
And lastly the bit i was most excited about, your great idea about other guys cars. If any of the real pro's on Sax-p would be willing to donate magazine type photo's and mabey some specs and details on the car so i can build a feature up i would be very greatful!
P.S. If anyone has a S1 rallye id love to include that

Heres some tips from me. I used to do this all for a living:
1. Download indesign. Its not that difficult to use and will give you a lot more control over your design. You will be able to move and resize your text and have more control on formating.
2. Use photoshop only for images. Its shit for formatting text
3. left align your text for your content, dont centre it or justify the text unless theres a good reason.
4. Get rid of those tiny images. They dont help with interest in their current format.
5. Think about how people are going to read the text. Try not to use bullet points if you can help it.
The cars with the bootlids up are more interesting than the zoomed in front bonnets so I would consider using them as a main. The artwork should grab attention, highlight your main points in your text (even should have quoted text in box outs). Dont have dead space but at the same time dont crowd too much in. You need to find a balance between content and imagery.

In addition to what KamRacing said, use a more neutral typeface for the text.
