Default Pain..

Went the gym for the first time in ages on Thursday and done a really hard session, however I wanted to go again yesterday but the pain is just unbearable... and today. I remember when I used to go I got aches but not like this xD I can't even stretch my arms out straight, the rest of me is fine though

Will this go or am I going to suffer every session? Any techniques to just carry on regardless?

Man up? I don't want to cause any damage though

it's just cos you've not been in ages and trained hard. you should've eased back into it with a light session but i did same thing as you last time, just went straight in heavy after a 6 month gap! couldn't hardly move for a few days and it hurt just driving! it went away though, then trained hard again, hurt again for a few days then trained hard again. the pain will subside

don't go again till the pain has gone! week or two and you'll be into the swing of it

As above you've just over done training too quickly. You'll be suffering from small muscle tears which will heal In a week or so. In the mean time try get in as much protein and carbohydrates as possible to help with repairs. Might help stretching before and after training as well

Should really be taking it easy when you've had a time out. Just to get the back into things. I know the pain though, I sleep with my arms up and I remember when I rejoined a while back, I couldn't even put my arms up. I felt like a cripple.

Just take your time, man up as you said. Don't overdo it.

Well 4 days after and im ready to go in for a session again, by tearing muscles... is that a bad thing? Or is that just the process of strengthening the muscle?

When I go tomorrow should I do the same session (hard) as I done on Thursday as Chris suggested or lower the reps and weight down a bit

See how you feel with lower weights, 8-12 reps and gradually build up.
You do tear muscle tissue when working out, it then rebuilds stronger, hence bigger muscles.
